High School to College

USU Eastern is committed to the success of its students. We strive to help students become successful - beginning in high school. USU Eastern offers the following programs and resources for college bound high school students.

GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) is a federally funded grant program designed to increase the numbers of low-income students who graduate from high school and go on to attend college.

Upward Bound
Upward Bound
The purpose of Upward Bound is to provide its high school students with the skills and motivation to succeed in and graduate from a college or university of their choice. To that end, Upward Bound has both summer and academic year components.

USU Eastern Concurrent Enrollment
Concurrent Enrollment
The purpose of concurrent enrollment (CE) is to provide a challenging college-level experience for students in their last two years of high school. Course offerings in Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, Fine Arts, Humanities, World Languages, Career Technical programs and Education ave been implemented in high schools throughout the state.

 Eastern Testing Center provides high school and college prep tests such as ACT, CLEP, GED, and SAT testing.
