The following must be accomplished before a candidate is considered for admission to the cosmetology program:

Cosmetology Application
Application Fee
Cosmetology application process requires an additional $15.00 non-refundable fee.
College Entrance Exam
Applicants must be high school graduates or have a GED certificate. Official high school or GED test certification and college transcripts must be submitted to the Cosmetology Department.
College Entrance Exam Applicants must take a college entrance examination (ACT, Compass or other). These exams are administered through the USU Eastern Testing Center on the Price campus. The results will be evaluated for readiness for the program and to determine a need for developmental courses before entering the Cosmetology program.

Personal Characteristics
Applicants must have personal characteristics conducive to working and relating effectively with others. Prospective students will be required to submit four (4) references along with a reference form (included in the application) completed by each reference.

All of the above must be submitted/postmarked to the Cosmetology department by
March 1st.

The above criteria must be met by the Cosmetology applicant before the class selection is made. Class selection for the Cosmetology program will be made in April. Candidates will be notified by e-mail of their acceptance status. Should applicants who have been granted admission to the program be unable to accept their appointments, alternates will be notified.

All students accepting placement in the Cosmetology Program will be required to submit a criminal background check.
