ART of the Prehistoric Museum – 65 Years of Handmade Interpretive Media and Objects
A new exhibit is opening in our Special Exhibits Gallery. For this new exhibition, we dig deep into our collections to celebrate the long history of partnership the Prehistoric Museum has shared with the artists and artisans of eastern Utah. From the first prehistoric paintings created by the Carbon Art League in the early 1960s, to the enormous casts of Mammoth bones made here in Price and shipped to museums around the world, these objects and artworks have helped us tell our story for over 65 years. This summer, explore the unique and vital role the Arts play in the communication of scientific research at the Prehistoric Museum.
The opening reception for ART of the Prehistoric Museum will take place in the Special Exhibits Gallery of The Prehistoric Museum on Friday, April 17, 2025, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm. Located in Price, Utah at 155 E Main Street, The Prehistoric Museum invites the public to explore this unique exhibition, on view through October 2026.
