Intermountain Electronics Internships Program

After Completing the IE and USU Applications

  • IE personnel will contact applicants to set up an interview (most interviews are in-person, but some interviews can be done on Zoom).
  • Internship interview with IE personnel.
  • Email sent from IE personnel to the intern applicant stating IE wants to hire the applicant as a 90-day intern.
  • Intern applicant sends an email back to IE personnel stating that the applicant accepts the internship offer.
  • Email sent to applicant from “Employer Council” with 1) link to complete information for background check, and 2) closest places in their community to complete a drug screen (applicant must pass both background check and drug screening to be hired).
  • IE personnel will send email to intern applicant that they have been hired as a 90 intern.
  • IE personnel will send email to USU Eastern personnel of who has been hired as interns.

Next Steps

  • Complete and submit Eastern housing application.
  • Pay housing $150 deposit ($100 refundable if no damage at checkout).
  • Information will be sent to interns about the “IE Intern Celebration Lunch” that will be held on campus
  • Plan to move into on-campus housing.
    • Summer Internship – Move in and orientation, Friday, May 3, 2024 (start internship at IE on Monday, June 3, 2024)
    • Fall Internship – Move in and orientation, Saturday, August 24, 2024 (start internship at IE on Monday, August 26, 2024)
    • Spring Internship – Move in and orientation, Friday, January 3, 2025 (start internship at IE on Monday, January 3, 2025)

When Interns Arrive on Campus

  • Orientation for all IE Interns
    • Register for internship classes
    • Complete new student orientation modules
    • Receive ID card
    • Resources available on campus
