Certification & Skills Center Policies
All exams are proctored in person during the testing center's regular business hours. This includes remote exams. Due to limited staff availability, requests for extended hours in the early morning, evening, or on weekends may not be accommodated. Please plan accordingly and schedule your exam within the designated business hours.

Student & Instructor Responsibilities
Students
- Verify the correct exam name, type, date, time, and location when scheduling.
- Set up Certiport accounts, test login credentials, and reset passwords at least 24 hours in advance.
Instructors
- Provide accurate exam details and any special scheduling instructions to students.
- Students must contact instructors for exam information.
- Instructors may provide a list of students and their exams to the Skills Center to ensure students have the correct exam information.
Scheduling Policies
- Schedule exams at least 3 hours in advance.
- Emergency scheduling may be approved by a proctor.
- Notify the center 24 hours in advance if unable to attend.
Rescheduling & Cancellations
- Reschedule at least 8 hours in advance.
- Late rescheduling is subject to availability.
- Online technical issues need to be reported to the test proctor immediately for rescheduling.
Arrival Time
- Test candidates must provide a current photo ID at check-in.
- Arrive 15-20 minutes early for check-in and security.
- Online exams: Log in 5 minutes early via Zoom.
- Late arrivals (within 20 minutes) may take the exam with reduced time.
- Arrivals over 20 minutes late require rescheduling.
Exams from Home
- Take the exam in a quiet, private, and well-lit room.
- Use a computer/laptop (no phones or tablets.
- Make sure your equipment meets all technical requirements (computer, webcam, stable internet, disable firewalls). Check systems and log-in 10-15 minutes prior to exam.
- Connect with the proctor via Zoom 5 minutes before the exam.
- Proctors monitor exams through Zoom and Certiport’s remote testing system.
Personal Items
- Store all personal belongings (bags, phones, notes) away from the test area.
- Only approved materials (calculators, scratch paper) are allowed.
Code of Conduct
- Academic Integrity: Cheating, plagiarism, or using unauthorized materials is strictly prohibited.
- Respectful Behavior: Disruptive or disrespectful behavior towards staff or other test-takers is not allowed.
- Test Security: Do not share test questions, answers, or attempt to access unauthorized resources.
- Compliance with Proctor Instructions: Follow all proctor instructions during check-in and testing.
- No Assistance: No outside help is allowed during exams, whether in person or online.
- Monitoring: Exams are monitored, and violations will result in immediate disqualification and potential reporting to the institution.
Behavior & Conduct
- Disruptions or cheating result in disqualification.
- Proctors actively monitor all exams.
Breaks & Accommodations
- Restroom breaks require proctor approval and may reduce exam time.
- If accommodations are needed, please request accommodations in advance through Certiport.
Transcript Acknowledgment
- Certification exams are recorded on transcripts as workforce development courses but do not affect GPA or degree progress. To opt out, please notify the proctor before the exam.
