This event is to help you as students become acclimated to campus, Carbon County, build connections to help you feel welcome, and provide an event the first week at Eastern. USUSA (Utah State University Student Association) is inviting students, parents, campus departments, clubs & organizations, the community, and local businesses to this block party.
This is a great way for you as a student to:
-Connect with campus and community resources
-Find out what student clubs/ organizations currently exist
-Eat good food, swim, and have fun
-Make new friends and connections
This year the Blue Blast Block Party will be held Thursday, August 25, 2022, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. We are planning to close down a portion of 500 North across from the wave pool. We will have food (currently we are working on having Bills Famous Wings, Angels Cravings, & Canyon Ice), fun games (Air City Bounce), and giveaways.
We are offering to pay for current registered students one meal ticket to any one of the food trucks that will be there!

It has been several years since we have had this event on campus, but we plan to have a one-night event on November 21, 2022, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM! Please join us in the Multi-purpose room of the student center to enjoy hot soup and fresh-baked rolls.
Everyone is welcome.
For the price of $8.00, patrons will receive two tickets, each good toward 1 bowl of soup and a roll.
We will have Chicken noodle and Tomato for soup options and 4 different bread choices!
This is a wonderful event that brings students, staff, faculty, and community together for a good cause. All proceeds will be donated to the USU Eastern food pantry to help students in need that have trouble accessing food.

Take Back the Night

Take Back the Night will be a fun rage room event that is taking place in the Eagle’s Nest from 6-8PM. Take Back the Night represents survivors taking back their narrative on the night of a sexual assault, so we invite you to join activities such as plate smashing to show solidarity for survivors taking back their power.
Denim Day
Special Event
Demin Day will be observed by USU Eastern and is the largest and longest running international sexual assault awareness campaign. Denim Day started in 1999 shortly after an Italian Supreme Court judge overturned a conviction based on the argument that the 18-year-old survivor’s jeans were so tight, her 46-year-old driving instructor couldn’t have removed them himself before sexually assaulting her. We'd love to see the entire USU Eastern community wearing denim on April 26th to show solidarity for survivors! We will also be holding a booth in JLSC from 9am-3pm and invite you all to come by to decorate and take photos by our denim wall.
USU Eastern Nursing Class of 2023 Pinning Ceremony
Ceremony/Awards/Celebration
Pinning is a symbolic welcoming of a newly graduated or soon-to-be graduated nurse into the nursing profession. It’s a unique and special ceremony for the nursing community that marks this transition from student to nurse. The Ceremony is an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishment of becoming a nurse with family, friends, faculty, and mentors.
The “Pinning” recognizes the completion of educational requirements that enable nurses to take their state licensing exams. It is a significant token of the student nurses’ hard work and dedication towards their coursework and clinical
The history of nursing pins dates back to the 12th century. By 1916, pinning ceremonies became an established tradition.

Join us at the LLC for a faculty talk by Noel Carmack, USU Eastern Associate Professor of Art on Wednesday, October 25! The talk is titled, “The Utah Agricultural College’s First Celebrity Alum: The Early Life and Learnings of Herbert Morton Stoops, Illustrator of American Pulp Fiction."
For the first few decades of the twentieth century, Herbert Morton Stoops was the most celebrated UAC Aggie in the nation. His paintings and drawings illustrated some of America’s most popular pulp magazines and fiction books. In this presentation, Stoop’s life on an Idaho ranch and as a UAC art student will be discussed.

We will be hosting a 5k/costume contest for the spirit of the season. At a minimum of $5 per person, you can enjoy this time with the community to support the local fire department. We are trying to raise money for new equipment and to give back for all that they do for us.

10th Annual Local Authors Night at the LLC

The Library & Learning Commons (LLC) is thrilled to welcome members of the Carbon County Historical Society to present at their 10th annual Local Authors Night on Tuesday, November 14 at 6:00pm. The annual Local Authors Night celebrates published authors who currently reside in Carbon and Emery counties.
The event will take place in the LLC, located in the center of the USU Eastern campus. The event is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served.

The Library & Learning Commons (LLC) is proud to welcome Shalyn Drake, Lecturer
in the Department of Aviation Technology, to speak about drones, responsible usage, and its applications across numerous fields. Drake will speak of the still emerging technology as it can apply to fields such as agriculture, welding, mining, the inspection of infrastructure, and natural resource management.
The event will take place in the LLC and there will be time for Q&A with the speaker afterwards along with, weather permitting, a drone demonstration. Refreshments will also be served!

The exhibit, entitled “Road Trip,” will be on view from February 2nd – March 1st in the Central Instruction Building (CIB) on the campus of Utah State University Eastern.
Gallery East is free and open to the public during the academic year from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed weekends and holidays.
