Leadership Groups
Read through the requirements for each position below. When you complete the leadership application will be asked to select leadership areas for which you would like to be considered.
Aggies Elevated Peer Mentor
Aggies Elevated Peer Mentors work with assigned students to set personal, academic, and employment goals and monitor their progress toward developing the skills necessary to achieve these goals.
Requirements: Current USU Eastern student in good academic standing.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with people with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
Award Amount: Up to $4,356 yearly (hourly position).
Ambassador
Focused on leadership and service, ambassadors represent USU Eastern and aid in university recruitment efforts.
Requirements: Maintain a 3.5 GPA.
Preferred Requirements: First time student.
Award Amount: 100% tuition and student fees for up to 4 years (valued at over $25,000).
Campus Recreation Leadership
Focused on providing outdoor adventures and discoveries to USU Eastern students.
Requirements: Maintain a 2.5 GPA, enroll in at least 12 credits per semester.
Award Amount: $1300 per semester.
Peer Mentors
This leadership group assists students and mentors them throughout their college experience.
Requirements: Maintain a 3.0 GPA, enroll in at least 12 credits per semester.
Preferred Qualifications: Completion of USU 1010 (University Connections).
Award Amount: Up to $3,740 yearly (hourly paid position) + $20 monthly communication allowance and options to earn more in the summer.
Resident Advisors
9-month contracted, live-in position with primary responsibilities in the areas of programming and community building in housing.
Requirements: Maintain a 2.75 college GPA, enroll in at least 12 credits per semester.
Award Amount: 100% housing and meal plan expenses + monthly stipend.
USU Student Association
Similar to student government in high school. Positions open in diversity, service (SUN Center Leader), public relations, athletics, traditions, event coordination, non-traditional & alumni, and more!
Requirements: Maintain 2.75 college GPA, register for 12 credits per semester.
Award Amount: Up to $4,400 yearly.

To apply for a leadership position, you must:

Apply for admission and be admitted to Utah State University.

Submit the Leadership Application:
- Complete online application and questions.
- Attach an electronic leadership portfolio (maximum of 4 pages). A portfolio is required and must be uploaded before you can submit your ambassador application. Applicants are encouraged to be creative and share their personalities within their portfolio. Ideas to include in a portfolio could be:
- Brief leadership outline with key qualities and strengths you possess.
- Graphics, visuals, certificates, etc.
- Highlights from previous leadership opportunities, hobbies, personal experiences.
- Future goals, values, and other important aspects of your life that are important to you.
- Submit two email addresses for online recommendations. The Office of Admissions will email your recommenders and ask them to submit an online recommendation.
The selection process could include participation in our Leadership Day on our Eastern Campus, where an in-person interview will take place. Students will also learn and be able to apply for all leadership opportunities on the Eastern Campus. Applicants will be notified if they are selected to participate in this event by email, so applicants are encouraged to monitor the email address they use when they apply. We strongly recommend using a personal email account (i.e. Gmail, Outlook, etc.) and not a school or work account. In-person interviews will take place on March 21 and 22. The selection process will conclude by the end of March.
